The Deye SUN-12K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 is a 12 kW three-phase hybrid inverter built around a 48 V low-voltage battery platform with a transformer-isolation design. It combines solar generation, battery storage, grid interaction and backup power in a single rugged, IP65-rated unit — a flexible choice for larger homes, farms and small businesses on a three-phase supply.
Its low-voltage architecture works with both lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries (40–60 V) and supports a very high 240 A charge/discharge current, so storage charges quickly and delivers power confidently. Two MPPT inputs accept up to 24 kW of PV, while a backup (EPS) output keeps essential loads running during outages — helped by a strong surge capacity of twice rated power for ten seconds, ideal for starting motors, pumps and compressors. With up to 97.6% efficiency, the inverter loses very little of the energy it handles.
The SUN-12K is equally at home in on-grid, off-grid and backup setups. AC coupling lets it retrofit onto an existing solar system, up to ten units can run in parallel for larger installations, and six programmable time periods make it easy to charge and discharge around time-of-use tariffs. A diesel-generator input adds resilience for off-grid sites. Built for European conditions, it operates from −40 °C to +60 °C, carries full CE certification to the relevant safety and grid standards (including EN 50549, VDE-AR-N 4105 and G99), and is monitored remotely through the Deye Cloud app via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LAN or 4G.
Backed by Deye's standard 5-year warranty (extendable to 10 years), the SUN-12K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 is a dependable, scalable foundation for solar self-consumption and reliable home or business backup.

Battery validity: install within ~3 months, charge within ~48 h, don't leave idle ~6+ months, use the original Deye frame.
Requirements
Installed in Europe, on a fixed solid wall, per the Deye manual. Keep your invoice. Serial number is required to claim.
Your statutory rights (EU)
This warranty is on top of your legal rights against the seller under Directive (EU) 2019/771: seller liable ≥2 years from delivery; defects in the first 12 months presumed pre-existing; remedies are repair, replacement, price reduction or refund. A warranty can never give you fewer rights than the law.
How to claim
Contact your seller/installer first, or a Deye service centre below. Provide: model + serial number, invoice, install date, fault description (error codes/photos/logs). Claims without this info may be rejected.

Deye is a Chinese clean-energy manufacturer best known worldwide for its solar inverters and energy-storage systems. The inverter business operates as Ningbo Deye Inverter Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the larger Deye Group(Ningbo Deye Technology Group Co., Ltd.), which is publicly listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (stock code 605117.SH) since 2021.
While the Deye brand is now synonymous with photovoltaic (PV) inverters and batteries, the group is a long-established diversified industrial manufacturer. Founded and chaired by entrepreneur Zhang Hejun, the company built its early strength in moulds, hardware, plastics, heat exchangers and dehumidifiers before becoming a major force in solar power electronics. The dedicated inverter subsidiary was established in 2007 and has since grown into one of the most recognised names in residential and commercial solar storage.
Business divisions
The Deye Group is a multi-sector manufacturer. Its main areas of activity include:
- Solar inverters and energy storage — the flagship and fastest-growing division (Ningbo Deye Inverter Technology).
- Dehumidification and air treatment — household, industrial and commercial dehumidifiers, constant temperature/humidity machines and custom air-handling equipment, a historic core business.
- Heat exchangers — evaporators, condensers and related components for appliances and HVAC.
- Solar air conditioners and heat pumps — PV-powered cooling, duct systems and water heaters.
- EV chargers and smart-energy IoT accessories.
- Power-electronics R&D — including frequency-conversion control chips and PCBA solutions.
This vertical breadth — from chips and moulds to finished energy systems — gives Deye a high degree of in-house manufacturing control.
Inverter & storage product portfolio
Deye positions itself as a one-stop provider of solar PV and energy-storage (ESS) solutions, spanning residential, commercial, industrial and utility scales:
- String / grid-tied inverters — roughly 1 kW to 136 kW, single- and three-phase.
- Hybrid inverters — roughly 3 kW to 80 kW, including low-voltage and high-voltage battery platforms, single- and three-phase (the SUN-series used widely in Europe).
- Off-grid inverters — for standalone and backup systems.
- Microinverters — roughly 300 W to 2.2 kW for module-level applications.
- Batteries & residential ESS — low-voltage and high-voltage lithium (LiFePO₄) batteries, stackable and all-in-one systems, and Micro Hybrid ESS.
- Commercial & industrial (C&I) ESS — battery cabinets (e.g. 60/120 kWh) and modular C&I storage solutions scaling from around 100 kW to multi-MW.
- Monitoring & smart-energy ecosystem — the Deye Cloud app and platform, data loggers, smart switches, EV chargers and a LoRa-based wireless energy-management system.
Technology & engineering
Deye emphasises in-house R&D and power-electronics innovation. Notable technical approaches include:
- T-type three-level topology with an enhanced SVPWM algorithm, which Deye states improves conversion efficiency by around 0.7% versus conventional SPWM designs.
- Frequency-droop / VSG control, allowing string and hybrid inverters to work directly with diesel generators — valuable in weak-grid and off-grid regions.
- "Smart Load" and "AC Couple" features, repurposing the generator port for flexible load control or for retrofitting storage onto existing PV systems.
- High-voltage battery architecture for higher round-trip efficiency and lower DC currents.
- 100% unbalanced three-phase output and fast UPS-style backup switchover on hybrid models.
Products are typically built to IP65 for outdoor use and certified to international standards (IEC/EN 62109 safety, plus regional grid codes such as EN 50549, VDE-AR-N 4105 and G98/G99 in Europe).
Global presence & market position
Deye has grown rapidly into one of the world's leading suppliers of hybrid and residential storage inverters:
- Products sold in more than 140 countries, with particularly strong positions in the United States, Brazil, South Africa, India, Australia, Pakistan and Europe.
- Widely cited as the No. 1 Chinese hybrid-inverter brand in the United States, a top hybrid-inverter brand in South Africa, and a leading residential hybrid supplier in China.
